Having heard of the wonderful sights along the coast off Highway 1, California, our family set off for it on the first day of spring break. This time, our destination was Calla Lily Valley. From San Francisco Bay Area, it took us about two hours to get to Garrapata Beach, which stretches along the western coast just off Highway 1.

There are a number of gates leading to the beach and Calla Lily Valley, and none of them have an entrance fee. Parking is free along the edge of the road. If you go south from San Francisco, the parking lots would be on your right side. Three gates offer access to the beach and Lily Valley. Gate 17 is in the north, while Gate 19 is in the south, so no worries if you miss one of them. Gate 19 is the most popular gate, while Gate 18 is the closest one to Lily Valley. An awsome cliff is next to the beach, and on the cliff is a field of wild flowers in blossom. I screamed excitedly when I caught the beautiful sight.

Strolling by the path through the wild flowers, you will reach Doud Creek, which flows through the beautiful white sand beach. Along the the creek are wild calla lilies, which attract numerous visitors every year. You will get shocked by this inspiring natural scenery. If you are here in the evening, you might be able to shoot an awsome sunset picture with lilies.

Doud Creek flows to the Pacific ocean. The water is so clear, that except for the wet pebbles, you can barely recognize it from this picture.
